Indoor air quality consultancy is not a single discipline — it sits at the intersection of building services engineering, occupational hygiene, environmental science and regulatory compliance. The value of an independent consultant lies in connecting those threads into a single, defensible investigation.
We scope each assignment to the question the duty-holder actually needs answered. That might be "is the building causing the symptoms our staff are reporting?", "are we compliant with the Workplace Regulations and BS EN 16798-1?", "what should we tell the tenant about commercial building air quality?" or "how do we evidence WELL or BREEAM In-Use credits?". Each question is answered with measured data, not opinion.
Crucially, we do not sell the remediation. We name the interventions — fresh-air rate, filter grade, terminal repositioning, source removal — in technical terms, so you can procure competitively. Independence is the whole point of hiring an IAQ consultant.

Occupant survey & walk-through
Anonymous occupant survey delivered via secure link. On-site walk-through of AHUs, terminals, occupancy, finishes and emission sources.

Continuous monitoring & sampling
Calibrated research-grade sensors deployed for 5–10 working days. Sorbent tubes, microbial bioaerosol and speciated VOC sampling added where indicated.

Reporting & presentation
Written report benchmarked against BS EN 16798-1, CIBSE TM40 and WHO IAQ Guidelines, with a ranked remediation plan, data appendix and optional in-person presentation to leadership or H&S committee.

Why independence matters
An IAQ report is only useful if everyone trusts it
The hardest part of any indoor air quality investigation is not the measurement — it is producing a report that the FM team, the landlord, the tenant, the union representative and the HSE will all accept. That outcome depends on independence.
We do not retail air purifiers. We do not sell duct cleaning. We do not own the filter range we recommend. Our recommendations are written so that any competent M&E contractor can execute them, which is exactly what duty-holders and procurement leads need from indoor air quality consultants.
And where measurements show that the building is compliant and the complaints have another cause — workload, lighting, acoustics, organisational change — we say so. That, too, is what independence buys.
